Snow Day 1--

Yesterday you received several worksheets.

Some of you doubted me, but here we are!

Today we are working on two things:

1) Analytic Geometry

"Investigation: Quadratic Function Transformations" Link

Use either of the graphing tools I showed yesterday:

www.desmos.com

www.meta-calculator.com/online/

You will be exploring the transformations on a quadratic function in the form y = -a(x – h)2 + k by observing graphs and analyzing the changes that each variable brings.

You should use the half sheet titled "GPS Algebra: Warm Up" to summarize your findings.

2) Converting Forms of a Quadratic Notes Link

This worksheet has notes on converting between standard and vertex form of a quadratic equation. With your knowledge of polynomial operations and completing the square, you should be able to complete the worksheet.

Last night's homework was graphing worksheets 1 and 2. Please email me or chat me if you have any questions. You can leave comments here if you'd like to see a particular problem worked out.

Test Review Material

I tried and I tried, but I can't get my videos to upload tonight. (I need an iPad!!)

But here are some significantly less exciting videos that I hope can help you out some.

Remember that "Find the zeros" or "Find the solutions" or "Solve" all mean the same thing--- FIGURE OUT WHAT X IS! When in doubt just use the tools we've learned this unit to get x by itself!

GOOD LUCK!
